About
Independent investigative journalist covering small-town Texas local governments.
I cover local government in small-town Texas. The cities and special districts where decisions about water, roads, zoning, and tax dollars happen behind closed doors or in meetings most people never attend.
My work focuses on public records, open meetings, and the gap between what elected officials say and what the documents show. I believe local journalism is essential because local government is where policy hits the pavement, and where accountability matters most.
Every article on this site is grounded in public records, direct observation, or on-the-record sources. From time to time I publish opinion pieces, but even those stay centric around documented facts and provable records. Opinion articles are always clearly tagged as such so you know exactly what you're reading.
My goal is to provide what I believe is much-needed exposure to towns that may not have their own newspapers, or towns where constituents feel unheard by the current paper of record. I'm not here to replace local coverage. I'm here to listen, have conversations, and bring a unique and fresh perspective.
I don't care if you like me. I care if you're telling the truth.

Seven Points, Texas
Seven Points caught my attention after seeing a news story about the city failing to pass its budget in 2025. Attending my first council meeting sent me down a rabbit hole I never expected. As of my arrival, the city has never completed its annual audit obligations.
